ARTIST'S PROFILE Joe Finch is, without doubt, a masterly expert working in clay. He creates superior hand thrown functional forms and the skilful craftsmanship of each item adds to the aesthetic quality, making him a true master potter. He is also widely known for having built numerous successful kilns, for his own use and for other potters. Joe makes pots for everyday: dishes, bowls, jugs, plates, pots for cooking and serving food and vases. Practical, unassuming, stoneware ceramics. His pots are ‘raw glazed’ then ‘once fired’ in large wood burning kilns that he builds himself.
