​​ARTIST'S PROFILE

​Mandy's three passions are colour, pattern & technique. She loves making things and exploring the possibilities of different materials. Although Mandy originally trained as a jeweller, her work has been heavily influenced by both traditional and contemporary textiles.

Much of Mandy's recent work has evolved from looking back at her creative ancestry. It was her grandmothers who initiated Mandy's fascination with making objects and they passed on their traditional textile skills which started her passion for creating anything from colourful materials.

Mandy is involved with many craft groups and associations. She is a regional co-ordinator and past Chair of the International Feltmakers Association, as well as a member of the Makers Guild in Wales, The Association of Contemporary Jewellery, The Society of Designer Craftsmen and of MaP, a textile group.

For twenty years, Mandy has also been developing work in felt. She combines this with her jewellery ​practice to create both functional and purely decorative pieces. Mandy has exhibited widely in the UK, ​Europe, Japan, USA and Canada.
