ARTIST'S PROFILE Nigel Mason creates his beautiful molten fused glass in his home workshop, which he shares with wife and fellow glass artist, Joy Mason. Nigel works with a spontaneity that makes each piece individual and unique. The coastlines of Gower & Pembrokeshire are a source of great inspiration and his interest in tribal art, particularly Celtic and Aboriginal art, comes through in his work. Nigel's organic creativity draws on all four elements: Fire: The glass fusing process uses the heat of the kiln to change the form of the glass. Earth: Welsh slate & stone form a solid base for standing glass pieces and the canvas for his outdoor earth artworks. Air: Oxygen trapped between glass layers in the fusing process creates delicate bubbles featured in glass pieces. Water: A clear source of inspiration reflected in the glass designs and the backdrop for many of his outdoor pieces. If you'd like to own a beautiful, unique, original work of art, created from Nigel Mason's passion & talent, which will bring joy to your life, please contact Nigel directly. |
